(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University will celebrate the 100th episode of its popular Tuesday Night Record Club series on May 6, 2025 at 7:30pm with Michael Jackson's classic 1979 album, Off the Wall. Attendees can register today to join this free event either in-person at the University's Great Hall Auditorium on campus, or via Zoom.
Host Kenneth Womack, Professor of English and Popular Music at Monmouth, will be leading the discussion, with renowned Chicago-based writer and music journalist Kit O’Toole in-person at the event to serve as co-host. The discussion will feature a special guest interview with JR Robinson, who played drums on Off the Wall, including the memorable shuffle at the beginning of “Rock with You.”
Created as a result of the University’s affiliation with the Los Angeles-based GRAMMY Museum, Tuesday Night Record Club combines the intellectual atmosphere of a book club with the exciting and evolving world of music. The club brings music lovers together to analyze a new album each month. Participants are encouraged to listen to the album beforehand and invited to explore the selected album’s cultural, political, artistic, and historical impact. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes.
Register today to join this free evening of fun, discussion, music and more for this milestone celebration for Tuesday Night Record Club. An announcement about the albums selected for next season will also be made at the event.
Great Hall Auditorium is located on the Monmouth University campus at 400 Cedar Avenue, West Long Branch, New Jersey.
